- The afternoon kindergarten children currently have 7 trees on the Forest of Formal Uniforms bulletin board. The children currently need 3 more trees to receive an animal in the forest. Keep trying kindergartens I know you can do it!!
The kindergarten students have started to learn sight words. A sight word is a commonly used word that young children are encouraged to memorize because it cannot be sounded out. Each week the students will be introduced to three new words. Parents if you would like to practice the sight words at home please visit the website listed below. You can print a set of flashcards with the words we are working on in the classroom.

The kindergartens in Room 2 have started a Mystery Box. This activity is to reinforce the letter of the week (both the name and sounds) that is being taught in class. Each child will have a turn to take the Mystery Box home and place ONE object inside for the letter of the week. The item that is placed inside the box can be an object (please no food) or a picture. When the box is returned to school on Wednesday the children will try to guess what is inside the box by asking questions. The box will be sent home in your child's backpack on Monday and it will need to be returned on Wednesday. I look forward to this fun learning opportunity with the students.

The kindergarten students in Room 2 will have library every Tuesday. The library book will be sent home and you and your child can enjoy it for the week. Please ensure that your child returns the book the following Tuesday so that they can sign out a new book. The kindergarten students have received a white plastic bag that says 'I Love Books' on the front. Please make sure that your child keeps their library book in this bag as it travels back and forth to school. This will protect the book from being damaged.
