Le Roi Daniels Kindergarten 2019-2020
Leprechaun Trap Homework Assignment We will be reading stories for Saint Patrick’s Day and talking about leprechauns and imagination over the next 2 weeks. Stories and legends about leprechauns have been passed down for generations. We are learning about story telling and are excited for the students to use their creativity to make a leprechaun trap for one of their upcoming homework assignments (see homework description for details). Please encourage your child to be creative and come up with a create idea that they can make, mostly independently. You are welcome to help your child but please do not do it for them. This is a great activity to practice creativity, cutting and gluing and other great fine motor skills. The children will get a chance to share their leprechaun traps and will be asked how they made the traps, which materials they used and how it would work to catch a leprechaun. Please be sure that all materials are securely attached to your child’s project and label it with their name. If you send a box or bag with the project then please label it as well (we will send them home after the students have shared them). If you would like more information about leprechauns then you can follow the link below: http://www.cbc.ca/kidscbc2/the-feed/the-legend-of-the-leprechaun Here are some examples of leprechaun traps made by previous students.
